Tedori Canyon 手取峡谷

Dramatic gorge with bridges, waterfalls, and rafting

Tedori Canyon is a narrow gorge along an 8-kilometer stretch of the Tedori River with 20–30-meter-high cliffs on each side. It is located in the area around the foot of Mt. Hakusan and easily accessible by rental cycle.

The Furobashi and Komonbashi bridges offer clear views down into the ravine where huge holes and stones of peculiar shapes sit. Waterfalls in the gorge include 32-meters-tall Watagataki Falls, which is said to have the appearance of cotton falling. Visitors can get close to the falls after descending a steep staircase.
