Kaga-yuzen Experience 加賀友禅体験

Dye your own fabrics and wear high-quality Kaga-yuzen silk kimono

Kaga-yuzen is a silk-dyeing technique characterized by its use of five basic colors: indigo, crimson, ocher, dark green, and purple. Intricate designs are drawn on paper then transferred to white silk before a careful process of dyeing starts. This style of dyeing is used mainly for high-end kimono and has been produced in Ishikawa for over 300 years.

Various studios in Ishikawa offer experiences that range from wearing Kaga-yuzen kimono and yukata to dyeing items such as handkerchiefs or tote bags.
