Chirihama Nagisa Driveway 千里浜なぎさドライブウェイ

Go for a drive along 8 kilometers of sandy beach

The Chirihama Nagisa Driveway is a sandy beach on the western edge of the Noto Peninsula that is open to cars. Traffic runs in both directions on the 8-kilometer stretch that runs alongside the Sea of Japan.

Visitors are free to park their cars out of the way of traffic to wade in the water or search for seashells. Food stalls open from spring through fall at the southern end of the drive sell grilled shellfish and other local delicacies.

The sand along the drive is packed enough to support not only automobiles but motorcycles and bicycles as well. It is not uncommon to see visitors and locals alike taking in the sunsets over the sea.
