During the colder months, Yamanaka Onsen residents and visitors warm up with a light, savory hot pot of snow crab, shrimp, carrots, and radish.

The stew is served in local lacquerware bowls in the town square between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. daily between December and March, and every Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and public holiday in November.
