Seaside fireworks visible from hot-spring baths

On the first Thursday of August, hundreds of fireworks are launched over the ocean at Wakura Port. The display has been an annual staple of Wakura Onsen for almost half a century. It is the only onsen fireworks festival held by the sea in the Hokuriku region (Ishikawa and the surrounding prefectures).

Wakura Onsen itself has many outdoor hot-spring baths that look out onto the sea. The resorts and inns of the town make for a great base while exploring the Noto Peninsula.
