Tomobata Festival とも旗祭り
Boat parade in hopes for maritime safety and fruitful fishing
The Tomobata Festival is a spring festival dedicated to Mifune-jinja Shrine in the town of Noto. It is held at Ogi Port and is performed in hopes of safe sailing and generous hauls of fish.
Nine boats are each outfitted with a 20-meter-high banner and sail a parade route on the bay. The procession is accompanied by flutes, bells, drums, and chanting.
