Kutani Ceramic Art Village 九谷陶芸村
See, buy, and make Ishikawa’s signature porcelain
The Kutani Ceramic Art Village in the city of Nomi is dedicated to Ishikawa’s local style of porcelain called Kutani ware. The village showcases pieces from the seventeenth century to the present, as well as periodic special exhibitions by modern artists. The recently renovated museum has informative displays on the history and production process of Kutani ware. Visitors can browse the galleries, purchase souvenirs from the gift shop, or try painting their own Kutani ware in workshops.
