Comprehensive museum displaying a range of local crafts
The Ishikawa Prefectural Museum of Traditional Arts and Crafts, located adjacent to Kenrokuen Garden, exhibits 36 different craftscrafts native to the area. Exhibits range from centuries-old fine art once owned by the ruling Maeda family to modern pieces by local artisans. Informative displays introduce the processes behind Ishikawa’s most notable crafts. On Saturdays and Sundays, the museum hosts demonstrations and workshops led by expert craftspeople. The museum shop sells works by current artists.
