Faster Journeys and Closer Connections: Extension of the Hokuriku Shinkansen Line

The Hokuriku Shinkansen Line connecting Tokyo and Kanazawa in Ishikawa Prefecture has been extended to Tsuruga in Fukui Prefecture. The new rail extension reduces the travel time from Kansai to Ishikawa, with easier access to popular destinations such as Kanazawa and Kaga Onsen.

From Osaka, Kyoto, and Nagoya, passengers need only ride the JR Thunderbird Express as far as Tsuruga in southern Fukui Prefecture to transfer to the Hokuriku Shinkansen for onward travel into Ishikawa. The extended line runs through southern Ishikawa and connects Komatsu, Kaga Onsen, and Kanazawa Stations.

The new line makes it easier than ever to explore Ishikawa. When planning your next trip, consider visiting the Kaga & Hakusan region, a beautiful part of southern Ishikawa renowned for its abundant hot springs and majestic mountains.
